...to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. - Ephesians 4:12-13
Children's Ministries
St. Matthias' Episcopal Church has a history of strong Christian Formation programs for children and youth, staffed by very active and supportive volunteers. Christian education is offered for all ages on Sunday mornings at 10:00am (September through May). During this time Preschoolers enjoy Godly Play, where they explore the sacred stories of our faith and are nurtured in their own innate experience of God. Kindergarten through fifth grade take part in WorkshopCycles, a multisensory rotation workshop model. Middle and high school students participate in the outstanding Journey to Adulthood program of spiritual formation. Journey to Adulthood youth gather in three groups: Rite 13/EYC, J2A/EYC, and YAC/EYC (or Young Adults of the Church in upper high school grades.)
